Test Results (Chapter 13)

Guys, I’m very proud of you this week.  You achieved an average 86% in your test (see the graph).  Congratulations!  This week’s top students are:

1) Byungjoo (Justin) from Korea;

2) Hyunjoo (Jessica) from Korea;

3) Pook from Thailand.

Your writing was good – you used the Present Perfect Continuous very well.

Next week’s test is going to be a little bit more challenging: there will be questions about everything in Pre-Intermediate.  This is because I want you to be well prepared for Intermediate.  We’ll do some revision of  the book this week  :)

The other thing that you really need to fix is your speaking.  You’ve said to your afternoon teacher that you want to practise your speaking, but she said today that many students don’t speak in class.  Remember that if you want to improve your speaking you need to speak.  Class is the best place to do it  :)   So don’t worry about making mistakes or looking silly – just smile and keep trying  :)

See you tomorrow.

Test Results (Chapter 12)

Hi everybody!  Your test average this week = 78%.  Remember tomorrow there is a speaking test!  Come armed and prepared  :)   One student, so far, has given me an article.  That’s not looking very goood  :(   If you’re serious about improving your speaking- which every student should be- then you should do tomorrow’s test.

 This week’s top grammar test results were:

1) Justin from Korea;

2) Sumin from Korea;

3) Larissa from Brazil and Hisanori from Japan.

Very nice!

PS – Justin sent me an email today that I thought was very funny.  It said:

“Today our class was very calm and a little boring.  I missed sugar daddy :)  See you tomorrow teacher!!”  Thanks Justin!  I’ll give you a hug tomorrow  ;D

Test Results (Chapter 11)

This week’s grammar test has definately been surprising.   The class average was 77% (see the graph).  Here are the top students in this round:

1) Hasinori

2) Justin

3) See Won

I want to give special congratulations to Hasinori.  In one week his grammar score increased by 15% and he’s now #1 in class!!!  If Hasinori can do it, anyone can do it.

Sophie (HG) was also surprising; she only came to class one day last week but she got a good score and did really well in the writing question.

Touk the Thai also did very well.  He got questions right that the best students got wrong.  That’s very good, Mr Touk :)

See you all in class.

Tomorrow’s Speaking Test

Hi all, remember that in Lesson 2, tomorrow, we have a speaking test.  Please bring your articles, your voice, and your confidence  :)   Very nice  :)

Test Results (Chapter 10)

The average class test score this week is 79%.  The top three students this week are:

1) See Won from Korea;

2) Justin from Korea;

3) Sophie from Korea.

So the Koreans have done well!!  However, you need to remember that good grammar test scores are not the most important things in life.  If you didn’t do extremely well in your grammar test it’s not a big life problem so don’t stress too much about it.

Remember that next Wednesday is the speaking test, so please give me your article by tomorrow.  Speaking has the same importance as grammar so please prepare well.  Your afternoon teacher Andrew will be showing you how to give good presentations tomorrow, so please listen to what he tells you  :)

See you tomorrow  :)

Next Tuesday’s Speaking Test

Hi all,

 Thanks to 95% of you who gave me an article yesterday.  If you haven’t given me an article, you won’t be doing the speaking test.  Sorry but I asked you to give me an article by Friday and if you haven’t done that then you can’t do the test and I can’t help your speaking :(

Have a good weekend!

Test Next Week

Morning class – In next week’s test you will be asked to write a 2-paragraph autobiography (story about your life).  You need to use:

- Present simple (e.g. I like painting)
- Past simple (e.g. I enjoyed watching movies)
- Present continuous (e.g. I’m now studying English in Australia)

- Present perfect (e.g. I have plans to live in Australia and become really rich) .

I look forward to reading your answers  :)
